i was just thinking that it would be pretty cool to start some sort of yearly marathon for joggers, but the only stipulation is that you have to be really high on weed, shrooms, or lsd. just to see what happens.

i didn't check the local news this morning so i didn't know it was raining until i stepped outside of the apartment building. but i really don't like going back in once i've gone out. so i walked to the subway station without an umbrella.

i have a feeling that if you can build a robot from top to bottom, it's safe to say that you're getting a scholarship to college.

i came up with an interesting concept the other night at the duane reade on 86th st. in between 4th and 5th ave in bay ridge, brooklyn: there should always be separate lines for customers buying toilet paper at pharmacies.

9:19 pm - poem written at work the other day
|
if someone chases me with a hammer i run unless i have a gun and they have none
if that is the case it is i who will chase he with the tool because only a fool would not run from a man with a gun
unless he were brave or lived in a cave because cavemen don't know (how could they, though?) about hammers and guns and cinnamon buns
but we do not know (how could we, though?) about life in a cave or a world without waves and writing on walls or, to be more specific, sketching on walls with nice hieroglyphics

i was in an elevator earlier today, listening to toto's "africa" on my ipod shuffle. i wondered if anyone else in there could hear the music coming out of my headphones.

tab 1
the me inside my head wants to look outside and over at her face and the sun behind it her eyes lower with the sun and the darkness breaks with her eyes the moon looks inside her eyes and blushes the stars laugh and the wind teases her hair
tab 2 there will be fire on that day yellow and red and orange all around the laughs will become shrieks nothing stays still except for that one part of your mind that's always there always will be there until the end a void is being filled as natural as life itself light is equal to dark

i wake up almost every night at around 3am. it goes like this: i wake up terrified about death. and then i want to eat some cheese. it must be the fact that i've been listening to yoga music to get me to sleep. yoga = death + cheese. it's been mathematically proved.

i was at peace at around 7pm today. i did some cleaning so my apartment had that relaxing glow i feel when there are no clothes anywhere. i wanted to watch a french movie. it was either "amelie" or "masculin-feminine". i decided on the godard film. i lit up one of the candles i bought from ikea when i moved into my tiny studio. and then...BOOM!!! the dvd is missing from the case. this was at 7pm. i spent two hours cleaning and looking for the video. i never found it. at 9pm i tried to pick another movie to watch. i don't want to watch the other french films i have because they make me think to much and i'm not in a thinking mood right now. it's now 11pm and i still haven't decided. my choices for now are:
withnail and i henry fool talladega nights moon struck.
i'm actually in a harold and maude mood but i haven't bought it yet.
side note: i'm watching the giants-cowboys game. the giants sacked romo for a safety. the announcers said "we'll be back after the commercial break" and then "safety dance" starts playing as the outro. i only now realized that they played it because of the safety. but i wonder if they always have that song ready to go, just in case.
second side note: from the beginning of the football season one of the networks, abc or fox, has been using a commercial that ends with some weird country version of morrissey's "every day is link sunday."
i'm going with talladega nights, or else i won't be able to go to bed.

do people still buy water beds? i just asked that question to people on the elevator. i said that i remember them being uncomfortable and always rolling into the side. but one of the riders on the elevator said that those were "the cheap water beds".

i wonder if the president ever gets up in the middle of the night to get cookies from the fridge. is it a big deal when he comes out? do all of the lights turn on, thus depriving him of opening the door in complete darkness and see that flash of light before grabbing a sandwich or some cupcakes?

i forgot what i wanted to say. something that happened in new york city this week. it must have not been important. or maybe it's because i'm stoned and listening to toots and the maytals. "right now someone else has my number."
i want to take a day trip to see some real foliage. pennsylvania, upstate, or massachusetts. i just want to see trees and hidden horse paths and leaves and rocks.
"man, when i was younger i used to hang out with the toasters hardcore." i took some weird history of music class in college. we had to bring in some "historical project" about periods of music. i handed in my jean jack because it had patches of bands that i liked. a friend of the t.a. come in and talk about the history of some kind of music. that weekend i saw him at a party with a huge blunt. he takes a really big drag and was talking to the people in the room and seemingly to the joint as well. "man, when i was younger i used to hang out with the toasters hardcore." it was like all of the years of hanging out raced through his head while he was taking a drug.

i was on a bus in san francisco. a girl gets on the bus. a guy gets on at the next stop. he stares at her and says "my god, you're really beautiful. what's your name?" she stands up and hugs him and says her name. he asks if he can get her number. she said no. he got off at the next stop.

i left shea stadium tonight during the top of the 8th inning when the score was tied 4-4. i think pedro martinez was being pulled as i left because i could hear the loud approval from the crowd. it took me about an hour and a half to get back to bay ridge. actually, it was probably less. the ride went smoothly because i was reading. about 10 minutes before my stop some weird guy kept on yelling that it was "illegal to smile in new york city" and that the cops give out tickets if they catch you. he said he was a comedian and that he would be on tv tomorrow. i hope he is.
